Have you ever dreamed of having a beach-town getaway? There is hope for you! The First Coast is the place to be. It has numerous beaches, enriching parks, and captivating sights. The culture is inviting and relaxing, begging you to visit more often. Take the next step and join the community as soon as you can. Jacksonville is waiting for you!

The number one greatest feature of Jacksonville are the beaches. Depending on where you are located in the city, you are no more than an hour away from the beach. There are miles and miles of it–twenty-two to be exact. There are three beaches along the coast of Jacksonville, specifically Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach. There is the notable fishing town of Mayport on the north side.  There are also beautiful towns to the South called St. Augustine and Ponte Vedra.  According to VisitJacksonville, “Locals say the best spot to hit the waves are ‘The Poles’ located just inside Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park.” Regardless of where you decide to land, the beaches are relevantly not crowded and provide a great way to relax and soak up the sun.

Without access to the water, what would a beach be but a dry desert? Fishing, hunting, water skiing, kayaking, paddle boarding, surfing–the list is endless. There is plenty to do in Jacksonville, particularly near St. John’s River. It is a popular place for outdoor activities. One cannot forget the rich vegetation and greens on the local golf courses. The PGA Tour finds its home with our neighbors in Ponte Vedra, Florida.

You can’t forget the weather! Year round, the weather is nice and temperate. There is barely ever any snow. It’s tropical and has subtle winters. There are local residents who have lived there their whole lives. It is a welcoming town. The summers can sometimes be brutal, but for a beach town, that is expected at times.

Thankfully, the cost of living is low, making Jacksonville an even greater place to live. It is nationally recognized for this compared to the rest of the East coast. Jacksonville is known for having a cost of living that is both lower than the national and Florida averages.

Jacksonville is a great place to live and play. There are excellent school systems for children, and the parks and recreation department is very involved. There are plenty of things to do and see.
